Young adults want ease of doing business
Young adults want to accomplish things quickly, so ease of doing business is important to them when they work with an insurance advisor.

That was the word from Kate Anderson, marketing manager with Universal Property & Casualty Insurance in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and member of Gamma Iota Sigma.
“I think that we're in a bit of a hurry these days, so getting things done as quickly as possible seems to be important to the younger clientele, she told InsuranceNewsNet. “I would say to agents that if you want to appeal to young consumers, you need to be able to get all their questions answered quickly and get them onboard quickly.”
Technology is crucial in helping young clients get coverage quickly, Anderson said.
“Mobile apps and online questionnaires and things of that nature are helpful because they can be accessible at any time of day,” she said.
Anderson advised financial professionals who want to work with young clients to keep up with changing technology.
“We have so many new capabilities these days with technology that we didn't have decades ago, and those capabilities that can make things a little easier in attracting and serving young clients,” she said.
Two pieces of advice Anderson has for those who want to attract and work with young adults are:
- Don’t be resistant to change, particularly when it comes to keeping up with technological changes.
- Young clients are everywhere. The key is to know where they are and how to get in front of them.
