Former House Speaker Paul Ryan headlines ACLI 2022 conference
Leaders from America’s life insurance companies are in Washington for the American Council of Life Insurers’ 2022 annual conference. More than 350 senior-level executives representing more than 150 companies are expected to attend.
“Life Insurers Fuel Transformation” is the theme for the event. Sessions and speakers will address a range of industry issues, best practices and the latest research. The agenda will include discussion of legal/compliance and investment/financial topics, as well as reinsurance, retirement security, emerging trends and technology, and legislative and regulatory issues.
Thursday’s activities kick off with David Wasserman, senior election analyst for The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter, NBC Contributor, addressing the Chairman’s Club breakfast.
Opening remarks at the general session will be given by Andrew Busch, author and economic futurist; J. Scott Davison, ACLI 2022 chairman, and Andy Sullivan, executive vice president and head of U.S. businesses, Prudential.
Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan will headline the morning general session. Ryan will speak on America’s Role on the Global Stage, touching upon what’s happening on Capitol Hill and where our country is headed, as well as how America’s relationships with allies and adversaries may evolve.
Federal Insurance Office Director Steven Seitz will discuss FIO priorities and issues, including financial stability issues, the International Capital Standard and U.S. Aggregation Method, and other developments facing the life insurance and financial services industry.
Ginny Clarke, director of executive recruiting at Google, will address the luncheon session. She will provide an expert perspective on the issues driving the current “War for Talent.” She also will discuss the intricacies of how to fortify your talent infrastructure to not only retain your top talent, but to attract new talent in support of your strategic objectives.
Justin Schrader, chief financial examiner, Nebraska Department of Insurance, will discuss the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ financial stability initiative. He will discuss the role of private capital in the life insurance industry and provide perspectives on regulatory activities related to these issues, as well as the broader macroeconomic trends that could drive an increase in asset risk.
