GILICO Growth Spurs Rating Upgrade, New Hire
Financial rating boost and talent acquisition kick off 95th anniversary year
BATON ROUGE—Guaranty Income Life Insurance Company (“GILICO”), a Kuvare US Holdings, Inc. (“Kuvare”) affiliate and life and annuity business based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, received an insurance financial strength rating of A (upgraded from A-) by Kroll Bond Rating Agency (“KBRA”).

GILICO’s steady growth has led to the appointment of Brad Newcomb, who joined the organization as Sales Development Director and will report to Cary Carney, Vice President of Sales. In this new role he will be responsible for identifying, recruiting and developing new and existing IMOs, adding value to each agency to help grow and develop a true partnership with GILICO.
Newcomb joins GILICO with a diverse background in the insurance distribution field. His experience includes managing the largest territory for a top-five fixed index annuity manufacturer, serving as the Chief Marketing Officer of an established brokerage general agency and most recently building a territory in the life insurance space. Newcomb recently completed his tenure on the board of directors of the National Association of Fixed Annuities (NAFA), which allowed him to stay in touch with his roots in the annuity industry and his relationships with distribution partners.
