Columbia Lloyds Insurance Company Appoints John R. Todd as New President / Chief Executive Officer and Sam Bana as Chief Operating Officer
Houston, November 6, 2015 – Columbia Lloyds Insurance Company, a leading provider of Homeowners and Tenant Dwelling insurance throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is proud to announce the appointment of John R. Todd as President and Chief Executive Officer and Shabbir “Sam” Bana as Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Todd has been with Columbia Lloyds since 2010, having served as the Chief Legal Officer and was responsible for the Litigation and Regulatory / Compliance legal divisions. Additionally, more recently, he was a member of and ultimately led Reinsurance and Operations.
Prior to joining Columbia Lloyds, Mr. Todd specialized in insurance law, as a private practice attorney. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and earned a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.
Sam Bana is joining Columbia Lloyds as the Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Bana is a twenty-two (22) year industry veteran, most recently serving as Chief Innovation Officer and Vice President of FarmAssure, LLC.
Mr. Bana, having received his Bachelors in Applied Science – Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, has extensive experience in developing insurance systems, developing and managing automobile insurance programs, and general business management. Most notably, Mr. Bana was the President and CEO of A Abana Insurance Services, Inc. for fourteen (14) years, prior to creating Bana Enterprises, Inc., a business management consulting company.
