National Life Group Foundation Donates $498,000 To Non-profits
Montpelier, Vermont – January 3, 2014 - The National Life Group Foundation, the charitable arm of National Life Group, donated more than $498,000 to non-profits in Vermont and the Dallas, Texas, region during 2013.
“National Life Group is woven into the fabric of our local communities. Giving back to support those communities and our neighbors who live there through our Foundation helps us live our values of Do good. Be good. Make good.” said Beth Rusnock, president of the Foundation.
In addition to financial support to charitable organizations, the company’s employees volunteered at non-profits in both the Vermont and Texas communities where National Life Group operates. The company offers each of its employees 40 hours of paid time annually to volunteer with non-profits.
“We are so deeply grateful for National Life Group’s generosity, from both the tremendous volunteer support from local employees, as well as the financial gift,” said Jan Pruitt, President and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. The National Life Group Foundation granted $15,000 to the Food Bank in 2013.
The Foundation made grants to a variety of organizations, including those serving families and children, health care, the arts, education, and the environment and the outdoors.
The majority of funding was allocated to non-profits in Vermont since National Life Group is based in Montpelier, Vt. The balance supported Dallas-area organizations to help the neighbors of employees on the company’s Dallas campus.
The National Life Group Foundation was established in 2006. Since then, it has granted more than $3 million to non-profit organizations in central and northern Vermont and the Dallas, Texas, region.
