XL Catlin Appoints New Multinational Casualty Insurance Leader

NEW YORK, Nov. 18 -- XL Catlin, a brand used by XL Group, issued the following news release:

XL Catlin has appointed James Barbuti to lead its Multinational Casualty Insurance Segment, part of XL Catlin's Global Risk Management Division. Based in New York, James will report to Ken Riegler, President of Global Risk Management. Commenting on Mr. Barbuti's appointment, Mr. Riegler said: "We're excited to see Jim assume responsibility of a growing and highly important segment of our business. Since joining XL Catlin in 2012, Mr. Barbuti served as Senior Vice President, Zonal Manager for XL Catlin's Risk Management business in the Eastern US. He also developed the Division's guidelines and standards for general Business Development and Target Account Marketing. Prior to joining XL Catlin, Jim managed the New York operations for ACE Risk Management (now Chubb). He brings nearly 30 years of risk management experience to his new position having worked for both insurance carriers and brokers.

Mr. Barbuti holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Quantitative Analysis from St. John's University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Hofstra University.
