Wyrick named superintendent of Fort Stanwix monument

National Park Service Northeast Regional Director Gay Vietzke has named Kevin Wyrick as the superintendent of Fort Stanwix National Monument in Rome. Wyrick currently serves as chief of operations at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon, Georgia, where he oversees law enforcement and emergency services, interpretation and education, resource stewardship and management and administration. Wyrick will begin his new assignment later this summer.

• Bernard J. Turi, senior vice president, general counsel, general auditor and chief risk officer with the Utica National Insurance Group, was recently honored by the New York Insurance Association (NYIA). Turi joined Utica National in 1987 as a senior claims specialist in the Errors and Omissions Department. After a series of promotions, he was named to his current position in 2014. A cum laude graduate of Niagara University with a bachelor's degree in political science, Turi earned a juris doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law. He was 2014 and 2015 Chair of the NYIA, and has served on the NYIA Board of Directors since 2007 and as an officer with the organization since 2010.
• Scott M. English, managing principal of Ford English Financial Group in Utica, recently attended a financial conference with other independent financial advisers from all around the country. Hosted by Commonwealth Financial Network, participants gathered in Miami, Florida, where they connected and collaborated with peers, colleagues and industry partners. While in Miami, English donated his time to a week of giving back. Along with his peer group of advisers, guests, and home office staff, English participated in a variety of facility improvement projects such as painting, building storage shelves and preparing meals.
• Indium Corporation, CONMED Corporation, Utica National Insurance Group, and Assured Information Security (AIS) joined together to co-sponsor the first annual "Utica Starts with U" intern networking event. Interns from all four companies were invited to attend the event at the thINCubator, which encourages the training and retention of talented young professionals in the greater Utica area. Event attendees participated in panel discussions on topics including current young professionals' lifestyles in the Utica area, as well as how to contribute and invest in the greater Utica area.
• Foster Fahey, a Sauquoit resident, joined the firm of C & D Advertising. Foster, named the new art director, has more than 30 years in the industry with his most noteworthy work experience at the marketing department at Turning Stone Resort Casino and as vice president of FosterMartin Advertising. Fahey will oversee all aspects of the creative project work at C & D Advertising with concentration on the graphic design production of the firm.
