WestCongress Insurance Services, LLC Announces Senior Underwriting Positions

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- WestCongress Insurance Services, LLC, a newly formed managing general agent, announced the hiring of three senior underwriting professionals to lead the firm's efforts in the specialty commercial insurance marketplace.

Richard H. Smith, chairman of WestCongress stated, "We are pleased to welcome Richard "Dick" Barrett, Dan Barrett and Michael Horn as vice presidents responsible for structuring and placing coverages for our clients. I have known and worked with these gentlemen for years at First Mercury Financial Corporation and CoverX Specialty. They are experienced professionals and we are delighted they have joined the WestCongress team."

WestCongress is a coverholder with Lloyd's of London and currently offers commercial general liability and commercial excess liability insurance solutions for targeted small and middle market risks in the energy, artisan contractor and security industries. Mr. Smith commented, "With direct access to the highly regarded Lloyd's market and these three seasoned insurance professionals in place, we are able to quote, place and bind policies immediately to serve our clients."

Each of these professionals will report to Edward A.
