West Health's Director of Health Policy Named to Board of Directors of American Society of Aging

WASHINGTON, April 3 -- West Health Institute issued the following news release:

Amy Herr, MHS, Director of Health Policy for the West Health Policy Center, has been named to the board of directors of the American Society on Aging (ASA), an association of more than 5,000 professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life of older adults and their families.

Herr has more than 20 years of state and federal policy experience focused on successful aging, long-term services and supports for seniors and lowering healthcare costs. Before joining the West Health Policy Center, Herr was a managing consultant with The Lewin Group, a health policy analyst for the National Association of State Medicaid Directors and a legislative assistant in the U.S. Senate.

"This is such a critical time for seniors and the work of the ASA is more important than ever," said Herr. "I'm honored to serve on the board and work with leaders so committed to improving the aging experience in America."

Herr will continue to serve as Co-Chair of ASA's Public Policy Committee, a position she's held since 2019. She is also a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance. Herr received her Master of Health Science (MHS) degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
