Two Prudential legal professionals selected Fellows in the 2015 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity leadership training program

It is a highly structured training program that helps participants build relationships and leadership skills through virtual and in-person conferences, training in the fine points of legal practice, challenging peer-group projects and extensive one-on-one contact with managing partners and general counsel at leading law firms and corporations. </p><p> “Mahsa and Hideyuki are impressive attorneys who have the potential to make a deep impact on the legal profession,” said <person value="APIN:4265040175">Susan Blount</person>, executive vice president and general counsel at Prudential and a member of the LCLD board of directors. “They were selected because of their notable record of success, their integrity and their commitment to excellence.” </p><p> Parangi handles legal matters for the company’s asset management business. She has practiced law for more than 15 years, specializing in investment management, securities and corporate law. Prior to joining Prudential in 2008, she was a vice president and assistant general counsel at AIG Investments; a counsel at O’Melveny & Myers; and an associate at <org value="ACORN:0770927772" idsrc="xmltag.org">Debevoise & Plimpton</org>. She has a BA degree from <org>Barnard College</org>, <org value="ACORN:3801785953" idsrc="xmltag.org">Columbia University</org> and a JD from the <org>University of Pennsylvania Law School</org>. </p><p> “The LCLD Fellows Program brings together an incredibly talented group of attorneys and I feel honored to be included among them,” said Parangi. “I also am proud of Prudential for participating in the LCLD Fellows Program. Previously, he was chief legal officer at <org>Prudential Gibraltar Financial Life Insurance Company Limited</org> in <location value="LC/jp" idsrc="xmltag.org">Japan</location>, a subsidiary of Prudential. Before joining <org>Prudential Holdings</org> of <location value="LC/jp" idsrc="xmltag.org">Japan</location> in 2011, Sakamoto practiced law in Nagashima Ohno and Tsunematsu in <location value="LU/jp..tokyo" idsrc="xmltag.org">Tokyo</location> and <org value="ACORN:2490966888" idsrc="xmltag.org">Alston Bird</org> in <location value="LU/us.dc.wash" idsrc="xmltag.org">Washington D.C.</location> He has an undergraduate law degree from the <org>University of Tokyo</org> and an LLM degree from <org value="ACORN:3990007320" idsrc="xmltag.org">New York University School of Law</org>.
