NOVELTY, Ohio, Oct. 12 -- The campaign of Betsy Rader, a Democrat running for election in Ohio's14th Congressional District, issued the following campaign news release:
In recent weeks, Congressman David Joyce has been running TV ads, distancing himself from his record on healthcare. Unfortunately for Congressman Joyce, voters won't forget his record on voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act and, with it, protections for people with pre-existing conditions; they won't forget his ads in 2014 and 2016 committing to repealing the law; and they won't forget the boasts on his campaign website about voting to repeal the ACA.
On Thursday, Betsy Rader's campaign highlighted a few of Congressman Joyce's Tweets, making clear his aggressive and absolute position on repealing the Affordable Care Act.
"In this election, Congressman Joyce has been desperately running away from his record on healthcare, because he knows that his votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act were reckless, put millions of Americans in danger, and are now unpopular in this election. Now, his vote for the GOP tax scam has put healthcare for millions of people at risk," said Brexton Isaacs, campaign manager for Betsy Rader. "Voters can't trust Congressman Joyce to be consistent; he's just a typical politician who puts his finger to the wind and will do whatever is most politically expedient in the moment."
