Liberty Appoints Markus Hefel to Senior Swiss Role

LONDON, England, Oct. 12 -- Liberty Specialty Markets, a specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance provider, which is a part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, issued the following news release:

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Markus Hefel as deputy country manager for Switzerland. He will be based in Zurich and report to general manager for Switzerland Felix Boni.

Felix Boni said: "Markus is a great addition to the team with broad experience of the Swiss and pan-European insurance markets. He will be responsible for the development of our liability and personal accident businesses across the country and continental Europe."

Markus joins from Ironshore where he was country manager and senior underwriter liability and accident. He was appointed country manager for Catlin Switzerland in 2007, becoming country manager for XL Catlin Zurich in 2015.
