HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (HIG) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $445 million.
On a per-share basis, the Hartford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of $1.30. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.66 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.56 per share.
The insurance and financial services company posted revenue of $5.39 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $3.61 billion.
