Succeed Management Solutions, LLC Introduces Four New Online Training Courses for Commercial Motor Vehicles Drivers

PR Web

Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) October 12, 2016

Succeed Management Solutions, LLC has released four training courses covering Hours of Service, Driver Fatigue, Distracted Driving, and Rollover Prevention for Cargo Truck Drivers, designed to train employees on how to operate a commercial motor vehicle safely and achieve compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Organizations that do not adequately train employees are not acting in accordance with the required hours of service laws and jeopardizing the safety of their employees and other drivers on the road.

This summer, a trucking company fired a driver for refusing to violate safety regulations. The driver encountered severe weather and was worried he couldn't complete his delivery without violating the hours of service laws. He managed to arrange for another driver to complete delivery, but his company fired him. They now owe him more than $276,000 in back wages and damages as well as reinstatement (from OSHA News Release, 06/08/2016). It is crucial that organizations comply with the hours of service rule to prevent the risk of serious injuries or fatalities on the road.

Succeed's Hours of Service training course focuses on hours of service laws, including rules for restarts and recordkeeping adopted in 2011. The Driver Fatigue course describes how drivers can recognize, respond, and control fatigue. The Distracted Driving course provides an overview of different types of distractions that effect driver safety and how to prevent them. The Rollover Prevention for Cargo Tank Drivers training course explains how the vehicle design, type of load, and other factors can cause rollovers, and includes instruction about the controls that can prevent rollover incidents.

The training courses include videos and embedded quiz questions for employees to actively apply their knowledge and ensure fulfillment of FMCSA regulations. These courses are an easy and efficient way for an organization to achieve compliance.

As with all Succeed courses, this training can be assigned to employees via Training Track™, an application that is designed to automate all aspects of an employee training program. Training Track™ is one of the available applications in Succeed's web-based Risk Management Center. The Risk Management Center also contains other OSHA-required programs, training materials, and integrated software solutions.

Organizations can also access the trainings via OpenSesame: Commercial Driving Safety – Hours of Service, CMV - Driver Fatigue, Rollover Prevention for Cargo Tank Drivers, CMV - Distracted Driving
