STATEMENT BY SENATOR McCAIN ON OBAMA ADMINISTRATION VIOLATING LAW IN OBAMACARE IMPLEMENTATION

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator John McCain today released the following statement of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation that found the Obama Administration is violating the rule of law in its implementation of Obamacare:

"Today, a nonpartisan government watchdog found that the Obama Administration is once again implementing Obamacare in clear violation of the rule of law. After a month-long investigation, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) determined that HHS has ignored the President's own signature law by diverting billions to insurance companies at the expense of the American taxpayer, and 'lacks [the] authority' to do so. Since the so-called Affordable Care Act (ACA) was so poorly constructed at the onset, it is no wonder the Obama Administration is pulling out all the stops, including implementing aspects of the ACA unlawfully, as a last ditch effort to keep it afloat. But as today's GAO report found, the American people, in this case taxpayers, are the ones suffering the consequences, which is why we must replace Obamacare with common sense policy solutions."
