Seniors to Participate in Local Health Events throughout New Jersey on National Senior Health & Fitness Day®

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In observance of the 24^th annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 31, seniors in New Jersey will join more than 100,000 older adults across the country in health and wellness events at more than 1,000 locations.

National Senior Health & Fitness Day promotes the importance of regular physical activity for seniors and showcases what local organizations are doing in their communities to help improve older adults' health and wellness. It is the nation's largest health promotion event for older adults.

In New Jersey, National Senior Health & Fitness Day will be celebrated at senior centers; retirement communities; Ys and health clubs; hospitals and health systems; and local aging organizations. Events at these locations, made possible through support by AARP® Medicare Supplement Plans insured by UnitedHealthcare, will include health fairs, fitness walks, exercise demonstrations, health screenings and presentations by health and fitness experts.
