Seniors smoke Holdrege in doubleheader
Columbus outhit Holdrege 19 to eight over the two games and drew 13 walks. The Seniors committed just three errors compared to five for the home team.
Holdrege gained a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning before Columbus took the lead for good with four runs in the third.
Columbus added another run in the sixth inning before tallying 11 in the seventh.
The 16 runs are the most scored by the Seniors this season.
Columbus scored an unconventional 13 runs in Game 2, taking advantage of four batters hit by pitches, five walks, four fielder's choices and an error. The Seniors had seven hits, with

Defensively, Columbus committed only one error behind a complete game from Morse on the mound. He allowed five hits and two walks and struck out five batters.
Columbus' scoring came in bunches with four runs crossing home plate in the second inning, three in the third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth to end the game early via mercy rule.
The Seniors are 11-17 on the season.
