Sen. Thune Introduces Bill to Modify Native Sod Provisions

WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 -- Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., has introduced legislation (S. 1913) to amend the Federal Crop Insurance Act and the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 "to make the native sod provisions applicable to the United States and to modify those provisions."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 4 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Mike Rounds, R-S.D., and Michael Bennet, D-Colo. It was referred to the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee.
