Sen. Sanders Introduces Bill to Establish Medicare-For-All National Health Insurance Program

WASHINGTON, May 14 -- Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has introduced legislation (S. 4204) to "establish a Medicare-for-all national health insurance program."

The bill was introduced on May 12 and has 14 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii, Patrick J. Leahy, D-Vt., Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M., Alex Padilla, D-Calif., Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.

The legislation was referred to the Senate Finance Committee.
