Sen. Hyde-Smith Introduces Homeowner Flood Insurance Transparency & Protection Act

WASHINGTON, March 30 -- Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., has introduced the Homeowner Flood Insurance Transparency and Protection Act (S. 3934) "to permit policyholders under the National Flood Insurance Program to elect to have previous premium rates remain in effect until the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency satisfies certain conditions."
The bill was introduced on March 28 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Bill Cassidy, R-La., John Kennedy, R-La., and Marco Rubio, R-Fla. It was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
