Sen. Booker Statement on CBO Report Projecting Devastating Impacts of Affordable Care Act Repeal

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office's report released today outlining the projected impacts of a repeal of the Affordable Care Act:

"Today, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office gave the American people 32 million reasons why Republicans should abandon their dangerous efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This report from the CBO-- Congress' independent office of economists and budget analysts--is the latest grave warning about what's at stake in a repeal of the ACA: 18 million Americans losing their insurance within a year, an increase on premiums of up to 25 percent, and within a decade, 32 million fewer insured Americans. It's time for President-elect Trump and Republicans in Congress to stop their efforts to repeal the ACA and it's life-saving protections and start working with Democrats to strengthen and improve upon the existing law."
