Sedgwick’s Azurely Kerr named to Business Insurance 2016 Women to Watch

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sedgwick proudly announced that Senior Vice President Azurely Kerr has been selected by Business Insurance magazine as one of its 2016 Women to Watch.

The annual Women to Watch program recognizes 25 women for exceptional work in commercial insurance and related fields. Honorees are nominated by Business Insurance readers and selected by a panel of the publication's editors based on four criteria: recent professional accomplishments, expertise, leadership and future career prospects.

Based in Southfield, Michigan, Kerr oversees a growing business unit comprising more than 450 colleagues and serving the workers' compensation, disability and leave management needs of 22 high-profile customers. She joined the company after college in 1999 as a claims examiner and quickly ascended the ranks due to her penchant for leadership, business savvy and commitment to customer service. Her outstanding track record in operational and program management success earned her a 2014 promotion to become one of Sedgwick's youngest senior VPs.

Kerr also played a pivotal role in establishing the Michigan chapter of Kids' Chance, a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for the children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job, and serves on its executive committee.
