Second search conducted for Michael Chambers

March 18--A second search was conducted Saturday for Michael Glenn Chambers, a retired Dallas firefighter who disappeared from his Quinlan-area home on March 10.

Almost 50 individuals, including members of area Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), the Cash Fire Department, Greenville Citizens On Patrol, the Hunt County Sheriff's Office, drones and K9 units participated in the search at a location which was not disclosed. However, Sheriff Randy Meeks said the latest effort was again unsuccessful.

"We didn't find anything," Meeks said. "It's frustrating."

A search was also conducted Thursday.

Meeks said his office has been receiving tips from the public concerning Chambers.

"We're getting some," Meeks said. "Some are legitimate and some are not. We are going to regroup Monday and see where we go from here."

Chambers, 70, was last seen on a surveillance camera at the Quinlan Walmart on the morning of March 10.

The sheriff's office was notified shortly before 7 p.m. Friday of Chambers' disappearance from his residence in the 7000 block of FM 2101.

A small amount of blood was located in a workshop at the residence, but there were no signs of a struggle and Meeks has said it is unclear whether Chambers was injured and walked away from the shop seeking help or was forcibly taken from the building.

The Chambers family has posted a $25,000 reward for information which leads to his safe return. Brantley Burns with Farm Bureau Insurance is offering a $1,000 reward for information which results in Chambers' being found safe and Hunt County Crime Stoppers is also publicizing the incident in seeking tips about what happened.

Chambers is described as six feet, three inches tall, weighing 225 pounds, balding with gray hair. Chambers typically wears a Dallas Fire Department T-shirt and ball cap.
