Report: 90% of U.S. counties had disasters this decade
It was created by the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, a storm that struck the eastern United States just over ten years ago and caused $62.5 billion in damage. California, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Iowa and Tennessee had the highest number of disasters, at least 20 each, with several storms, fires, floods and landslides.
