Rep. Knight Introduces Bill on Coverage for Individuals With Preexisting Conditions

WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 -- Rep. Steve Knight, R-Calif., has introduced legislation (H.R. 6898) to amend the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act "to ensure coverage for individuals with preexisting conditions."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 26 and has 10 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Bill Huizenga, R-Mich., John R. Curtis, R-Utah, Jeff Denham, R-Calif., Mimi Walters, R-Calif., Ann Wagner, R-Mo., Rod Blum, R-Iowa, David Valadao, R-Calif., Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., Bruce Poliquin, R-Maine, and Jim Renacci, R-Ohio.
The legislation was jointly referred to the House Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means and Education and the Workforce committees.
