Rep. King Introduces Bill on Insurance Premiums Deduction

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 -- Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, has introduced legislation (H.R. 407) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to allow a deduction for premiums for insurance which constitutes medical care."

The bill was introduced on Jan. 10 and has 10 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, Robert Pittenger, R-N.C., Darrell E. Issa, R-Calif., Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., Michael C. Burgess, R-Texas, Chris Stewart, R-Utah, Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., Roger W. Marshall, R-Kan., and Randy Hultgren, R-Ill.

The legislation was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
