Rep. Horsford Introduces Bill on Group Health Plans

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 -- Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev., has introduced legislation (H.R. 8881) to "amend the Public Health Service Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group or individual health insurance coverage to disclose the percentage of in- network participation for certain provider types."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 19 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla. It was jointly referred to the House Energy and Commerce; Ways and Means; and Education and Labor committees.
