Rep. Deutch Introduces Bill on Social Security Benefit Protection

WASHINGTON, July 21 -- Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., has introduced legislation (H.R. 3302) to amend title II of the Social Security Act and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to make improvements in the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance program, and to provide for Social Security benefit protection."
The bill was introduced on July 19 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Frederica S. Wilson, D-Fla., Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., Alcee L. Hastings, D-Fla., Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, and Tony Cardenas, D-Calif. It was jointly referred to the House Ways and Means, Education and the Workforce and Energy and Commerce committees.
