Rep. DeGette Introduces Bill on Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program

WASHINGTON, June 10 -- Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., has introduced legislation (H.R. 2843) to amend titles XI and XIX of the Social Security Act "to establish a comprehensive and nationwide system to evaluate the quality of care provided to beneficiaries of Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program and to provide incentives for voluntary quality improvement."
The bill was introduced on June 8 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy, D-Mass. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
