Readout of President Donald J. Trump’s Phone Call With Congresswoman Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon of Puerto Rico on Hurricane Maria

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 -- The White House issued the following news release:

President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Congresswoman Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon regarding Puerto Rico's recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria. President Trump sought Congresswoman Gonzalez's assessment of the response effort and expressed thanks for her leadership in responding to and recovering from these catastrophic events. President Trump pledged his Administration's continued commitment to provide an unprecedented Federal response in helping the people of Puerto Rico. Congresswoman Gonzalez thanked the President for his leadership, for FEMA's leadership, and for the efforts of the Federal responders in Puerto Rico. Both leaders shared their praise for Governor Ricardo Rossello of Puerto Rico and FEMA Administrator Brock Long.
