COLUMBUS — As the nation’s sixth largest insurance market, Ohio is proud to welcome insurance regulators, industry representatives, consumer advocates, members of the media, and other stakeholders from across the country to Columbus for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) 2026 Summer National Meeting, Aug. 11-14.
Occurring three times each year, the NAIC’s national meetings bring together state insurance regulators to collaborate on key issues. The meetings are a high point on the country’s state based insurance regulatory system calendar, providing a forum for developing regulatory policy, strengthening consumer protections, and ensuring a competitive and resilient insurance market in each state across the United States.
Hosting the Summer National Meeting reflects Ohio’s leadership in insurance regulation and Columbus as a destination for major national events. The Ohio Department of Insurance plays an active role within the NAIC, with department staff serving on committees, task forces, working groups, and subgroups that help develop regulatory guidance, model laws, and best practices used by insurance regulators nationwide.
The 2026 meeting marks the second time in five years that Columbus and the Ohio Department of Insurance have held the NAIC Summer National Meeting. We are honored to once again welcome the insurance regulatory community for meaningful collaboration.
