BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ ProAssurance Corp. (PRA) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $12.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Birmingham, Alabama-based company said it had profit of 23 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 25 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 15 cents per share.
The medical professional liability insurer posted revenue of $309.7 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $293.9 million, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $270 million.
