Preferred Risk Insurance Services Appoints IBM's Sumit Roy as Chief Information Officer

PR Web

BEDFORD PARK, IL (PRWEB) February 07, 2020

Preferred Risk Insurance Services (PRIS), a professional services company and subsidiary of Warrior Invictus Holding Co., has named established IT thought leader Sumit Roy as Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President.

Roy reunites with his former management team after spending the last eight years as a Worldwide Solution Architect and Technical Sales Lead for IBM's Content Platform and Digital Business Automation division where he was responsible for architecting content management and digital business solutions for clients across the world. Previously, he worked for companies run by current Warrior Invictus management from 1992 to 2004, winning an award from Microsoft for the best in-house workflow enabled insurance claims solution at the Comdex Windows World 1996 event. Roy will be responsible for leading all IT department operations as the company transitions into a new, innovative software platform for its core business functions.

"I am excited to be back and leading the technology initiatives across the Warrior Invictus group of companies as we seek to transform into a digital organization leveraging automation, AI, analytics, and the cloud to become a leading player in regional insurance markets," Roy said.

Roy began his career as a Financial Systems Analyst for Citicorp Diners Club before joining InsureOne, owned at the time by Warrior Invictus Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jim Hallberg, as the Direct of Applications Development. From 1998 to 2004, he served as Vice President of Research and Development for Warrior Insurance Group, also owned at the time by Hallberg. Since then, Roy has worked with several Fortune 500 companies on multi-million-dollar globalized projects, advising clients in their transformation to digital models that incorporate task automation, analytics, business process management, and enterprise content management.

"This is a great day for our group of companies," Hallberg said. "I have kept in touch with Sumit for years, always saying that when the time was right, we'd love to have him back leading our group of IT professionals, and more importantly, having him help grow our whole IT department for all of the challenges of the 2020s and beyond. Sumit was instrumental in several successes we had developing software for our claims department and in managing developers in those past years, and we know he'll bring that same great leadership to our present team that he did in the past."

From 2007 to 2012, Roy served as Sr. Manager Application Outsourcing Solution Architect at Accenture before transitioning to the Professional Services Lead for P&C Insurance in Accenture's Software division. Prior to that he was Director of Applications Development at Affirmative Insurance. Roy is a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Calcutta and Northern Illinois University where he earned an MBA in Information Systems.
