Morning Call (Allentown, PA)
March 19--The winning Powerball ticket worth $456.7 million was sold at a store in Manheim, Lancaster County, according to state officials.
Officials said they cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Winners of lottery jackpots have up to a year to claim their prize.
The winning ticket was sold at the Speedway store on Lancaster Road in Manheim, Lancaster County. The winning ticket had to match all five white balls and the red Powerball number, officials said.
The $456.7 million jackpot is the eighth-largest on record, officials said in a news release Monday. The annuity value is $456.7 million or $273 million cash value before taxes.
A story published in LancasterOnline last year listed the total taxable real estate of Lancaster County as $42.15 billion.
The lottery commission said the holder of the winning ticket should sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.
Locally, a Cash 5 lottery ticket sold in Easton is worth $200,000. The winning ticket matched all five balls drawn Friday. The Wawa store on Cattell Street earns a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
