NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SigmaCare, a leading provider of cloud-based services and mobile applications for the long-term, post-acute care market, announced today that it has been chosen by Northwell Health as the electronic health record (EHR) of choice to empower Northwell’s skilled nursing facilities to excel in the ever changing and complex healthcare market.

Northwell Health, formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System, is the New York area’s largest provider and the largest private employer in the state. With a workforce of more than 61,000 employees, Northwell Health operates four skilled nursing facilities on Long Island: Broadlawn Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Amityville, Orzac Center for Rehabilitation in Valley Stream, Peconic Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Riverhead, and Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation in Manhasset.

Northwell will be leveraging SigmaCare’s leading EHR platform to focus on computerized physician order entry (CPOE), medication management, mobile physician app and interoperability services. The organization’s new five-year agreement with SigmaCare includes connecting over 22 care providers in the Northwell care ecosystem, leveraging SigmaCare’s robust interoperability platform (including inbound and outbound CCDA), as well as the market’s deepest care management platform to improve care outcomes and meet complex national and New York State regulations.
