North American Title Insurance Co. Regional Underwriting Counsel Dickard Named to New Colorado Title Insurance Commission

PR Web

(PRWEB) September 09, 2015

P. David Dickard, regional underwriting counsel for North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC), has been appointed by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper as a member of the state's newly created Title Insurance Commission. Dickard will serve a four-year term expiring Aug. 5, 2019, and will work with other members of the nine-member commission to advise Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar and the Department of Insurance on improvements that will be beneficial to both consumers and the title industry.

"I applaud David for his selection to Colorado's inaugural title insurance commission," said Emilio Fernandez, NATIC president. "I am confident that with his involvement, the commission will achieve its ultimate purpose to heighten the awareness and importance of title insurance.

"This appointment exemplifies David's career-long commitment to our industry and NATIC's unwavering support of its associates to take on leadership roles within the industry," added Fernandez.

Dickard has over 30 years' experience in all areas of title insurance, including title, escrow, underwriting, regulation, management, claims, and also serving as general counsel. Prior to earning his law degree, Dickard spent nine years at two Texas title companies, advancing to vice president and chief title officer. In 1989, he went into private law practice. Dickard moved to Colorado in 1996 and returned to the title industry as an in-house counsel and executive manager.

"This is my first venture into public service," said Dickard. "I see it as an opportunity to serve the adopted home state that I love, and it seemed like a perfect fit for my abilities and experience. I'm looking forward to working with the other members of the commission."

As NATIC regional underwriting counsel, Dickard provides underwriting and legal support to independent title agents in Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. Serving as Mountain Region counsel, he also assists North American Title Co. agencies with legal support. NATIC is the affiliated underwriter for North American Title Co.

Dickard is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the South Texas College of Law. He is located at North American Title's Mountain Region Legal Department's office at 7900 E. Union Ave., Suite 100, Denver, CO 80237, telephone number (303) 352-2121.
