New era of activism in Colorado Springs bringing out a surprising number of first-time protesters

At the Women's March in Colorado Springs, rallies outside City Hall and protests downtown against the Dakota Access Pipeline, longtime activists have noticed a larger-than-usual number of first-timers.

They are people concerned about a variety of issues - the environment, reproductive rights, women's and LGBTQ rights and racial and economic justice.

Some are drawn by the policies of President Donald Trump, who has promised to deport millions of undocumented immigrant, to do away with Obamacare and environmental and financial regulations and disparaged women and Planned Parenthood.
