National Life Group Collaborates with Boston Children’s Hospital to Provide Free Behavioral Health Resources for Schools

Business Wire

MONTPELIER, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
National Life Group announced a collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital Neighborhood Partnership program to provide access to free online social-emotional learning and behavioral health resources to educators nationwide.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260203553657/en/

The Training and Access Project (TAP) has developed a series of brief videos that offer an introduction to key topics to guide school communities in exploring how they can build sustainable systems of support for social-emotional learning and behavioral health with students, families, and school staff. For the past 10 years, TAP has created and delivered professional development for school communities to support the strengthening and sharing of knowledge, practices, resources, and connections in order to build capacity to address social-emotional learning and behavioral health in schools. National Life Group will make this series available directly to more than 15,000 school employees who are members of the National Life Group LifeChanger of the Year program.

“National Life Group has served educators nationwide for decades, helping them retire with dignity,” said Linda Goldstein, Head of Marketing for National Life Group. “We’re committed to continuing to support their good work in any way we can, especially as kids’ mental health is at a tipping point. Collaborating with Boston Children’s Hospital, a world-renowned leader in children’s health, to provide easy-to-use professional development resources can further help school employees support their students.”

Topics in the TAP series include:

  • Coping with Grief and Loss: Using Storytelling with Students

  • Impact of Social Media: Implications for Schools

  • After a Behavioral Health Crisis: Supports for Students

  • Strengthening Partnerships between Families and Schools

  • Strategies to Support Students in the Classroom: Understanding Student Behavior

  • Staff Wellbeing and Organizational Support

  • Building Teams in Schools

  • An Overview of the Behavioral Health Landscape in Schools

  • Understanding Role of School-Based Behavioral Health Professionals

  • Utilizing Public Health Models in Schools to Support Social-Emotional Learning

“Educators and school communities play a critical role in supporting children’s behavioral health, and accessible, practical resources grounded in real-world school settings can further strengthen the important work they are already doing,” said Shella Dennery, PhD, LICSW, BCHNP Director. “This collaboration with National Life Group allows us to share trainings and tools with school employees and educators nationwide at a moment when the need could not be greater.”

National Life Group will launch this series with a webinar featuring team members at BCHNP in March 2026. It will initially be made available to the organization’s LifeChanger of the Year members. LifeChanger of the Year is a program that rewards and recognizes the work of school employees nationwide. Anyone can nominate a school employee to be a LifeChanger through the program’s website.

Addressing children’s mental health is one of National Life Group’s core causes. It has provided funding through its charitable foundation to organizations that have programs to help kids, families, and educators with kids’ mental health. The company will also focus on this cause through the 2026 National Life Group Do Good Fest concert series.

“National Life Group has been committed to serving kids and families since its founding in 1848,” said John Mullett, President and CEO of the National Life Group Foundation. “We want to make sure that the children in our communities have every chance to live healthy lives, whether it’s through our products or our philanthropic giving or both. BCHNP has been a innovative steward of our funding. We’re excited to see how many educators and children benefit from their good work.”
