NAHU Named Provider Of The 2017 FFM Broker Training
Washington, D.C. — Today, the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) announced that it is one of two vendors selected to provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) agent/broker training. NAHU is the only agent/broker association that was awarded this honor. All agents and brokers must complete the FFM registration and training in order to assist consumers with enrollment through the FFM.
“Licensed agents and brokers play a crucial role in educating consumers about the health insurance marketplaces during annual open enrollment and throughout the coverage year,” explained Janet Trautwein, CEO of NAHU. “Allowing agents and brokers to use NAHU for their training will provide a significantly enhanced learning experience as well as add to their ability to improve consumers’ experience and understanding while selecting their healthcare coverage.”
“The NAHU FFM agent/broker training is comprehensive and meets all CMS training requirements. It will be available through NAHU’s Online Learning Institute. NAHU is honored for the opportunity to serve as a 2017 provider in the FFM training process.”
Agents and brokers who wish to participate in the FFM training will complete a two-part registration process. First, agents and brokers will have to register through the CMS agent/broker portal for plan year 2017. Second, from the CMS portal, agents and brokers will be able to select their preferred provider of the FFM training.
Following CMS guidelines, the training provides online instruction with webinar modules and a final exam. NAHU training will include continuing-education credits issued on a state-by-state basis.
For more information on the new training, please contact NAHU’s Learning Institute at [email protected].
The National Association of Health Underwriters represents 100,000 professional health insurance agents and brokers who provide insurance for millions of Americans. NAHU is headquartered in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit www.nahu.org.
