More Disability Supports For Inner Gippsland
Speaking in Morwell today to mark the milestone, Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing
Wimmera South West and Ovens Murray are also rolling out the NDIS – giving greater access to support and services for 400 people with disabilities for the first time. Almost 11,000 Victorians will access the NDIS in the three areas when the scheme is fully rolled out.
The NDIS is a national approach to providing individualised support and services to people with disabilities.
It will mean better outcomes for people as well as their families and carers, who will have greater choice and control over the services and decisions affecting their lives. The scheme will support more than 105,000 Victorians and will be fully operational across the state by mid-2019.
Around 16,500 Victorians were receiving support under the NDIS in June, which is being delivered through a funding partnership between the Commonwealth and the Andrews Labor Government.
