Minnesota’s top insurance regulator has left the job after nearly seven years as the commissioner of the Department of Commerce. Gov. Mark Dayton announced Friday that Department of Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman had resigned effective immediately. Rothman was the face of setting health insurance rates in Minnesota amid skyrocketing premiums in recent years. He’ll be replaced by Jessica Looman, a deputy commissioner at the Department of Labor and Industry.
