"People have short memories and they've forgotten what happened to them in 2008 or 2009," said Chartered Financial Consultant Larry Goldstein. "I have a vision and passion to squash the misconception that surrounds retirement plans these days."
"
Goldstein points out that in the new age of retirement planning, longer life expectancies require a different approach or people may run the risk of outliving their retirement income. People need to be more proactive, not reactive, as they create a personal pension plan. One aspect that people often ignore is creating tax-efficient income.
"People don't think about tax implications when they're planning for retirement. I eliminate and pay attention to tax efficiencies and almost eliminate any tax burden when they're 65 or 70. I can structure plans and benefit packages where they don't pay any taxes so there are no tax consequences to that individual or family when they retire. I'm all about cash flow and income, rather than accumulation of assets," shares Goldstein.
According to Goldstein, it's important to have a diversified portfolio which includes income-generating investments and not rely primarily on the stock market. People forget that, historically, bull and bear markets follow each other in a predictable manner. If someone is ten to fifteen years away from retirement, they may not have the time to recover from the next bear market which is approaching.
Goldstein offers a common sense approach to retirement planning to ensure enough income to maintain their lifestyle and fully enjoy retirement, however long that may be.
