LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Mercury General Corp. (MCY) on Monday reported second-quarter profit of $83.3 million.
The Los Angeles-based company said it had profit of $1.50 per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, came to 74 cents per share.
The auto insurance company posted revenue of $979.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $926.2 million.
Mercury General shares have increased 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 37% in the last 12 months.
