According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reports, also combined with data from MFA’s Health Coverage Portal™, more than 10.3 million of these members were enrolled through the healthcare.gov platform at second quarter 2022, and 4.3 million enrolled in State-based marketplaces. • Centene, Guidewell Mutual Holding Group (the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliates operating in Florida), Kaiser and Anthem all reported more than 1 million individual medical covered lives as of second quarter 2022.

• Florida, California, and Texas had the highest number of enrollees, with Florida covering nearly 3 million members as of 2Q21.

• Profitability for health insurance companies with Individual business dropped from nearly $8 billion in 2020 to a loss of ($1.7) billion for 2021.
