May 17--A Lily man was arrested Monday morning in Laurel County following a domestic violence complaint and subsequent single-vehicle crash.
According to a press release from Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Deputy Shannon Jones was dispatched to a residence off Robinson Creek Road, where the complaint originated. Once arriving at the scene, the deputy learned that a man, identified as Joseph Boswell, 38, had allegedly struck his mother in the face.
Boswell had allegedly left the residence in a Chevrolet pickup truck before Deputy Jones' arrival.
A vehicle matching the description of Boswell's truck was later allegedly found approximately two miles away on US-25, where it had crashed through the side of Ultimate Shine Car Wash, causing extensive damage to the building. Boswell allegedly left the scene, leaving his vehicle behind, but was apprehended after returning to the scene later.
Deputy Jones conducted an investigation, determining Boswell to be under the influence. Boswell also allegedly admitted to taking roxicet.
Boswell was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, failure of owner to maintain insurance, no registration plates, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and numerous other traffic-related violations. He was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Facility.
