Ladies and gentlemen – start your engines!

Altus Times (OK)

Main Street Altus, partnered with City of Altus Parks and Recreation, are pleased to host the 24th annual Rock and Rumble event that is scheduled for May 5-6.

Events scheduled for Friday May 5 are: Classics for the Classics - Tamarack Assisted Living Car Show, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Best of show will be awarded. Voting begins at 3:45 p.m. You can contact Roxanne Breaux at 580-379-6990 for more information.

Food and craft vendors are open from 6 - 10 p.m. at Courthouse Square. You can contact Jeannie Bitle at 580-471-6376 for more information.

The Hot Wheels Car Show is sponsored by AEC Outdoors. There is a $1 entry fee per car at S.W. Crop Insurance. Registration is scheduled for 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. for the Hot Wheels show, and the show is scheduled for 6 - 7 p.m. Awards are scheduled for 7:30 - 7:45 p.m.

The Power Wheels Cruise is also a $1 entry fee at S.W. Crop Insurance and is sponsored by AEC Outdoors. The cruise is scheduled from 6-7 p.m.

Friday Night Bands are sponsored by City of Altus Parks and Recreation. Featured artists include Fiesta Extravaganza - Monica Saldivar, Lawton Mexican Folkloric Dancers, and Pression. This event is free and will take place at the Courthouse Square stage from 6:30 - 11 p.m. You can contact Main Street Altus at 580-482-2277 for more information.

Events Scheduled for Saturday May 6 are: Food and craft vendors are open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Courthouse Square.

Registration for the Car Show is scheduled from 7 a.m. - noon and from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. for the cruise. You can contact Main Street Altus for more information.

Registration for the Motorcycle Poker Run is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., with the first bike out at 9 a.m., and last bike out at 11 a.m. The last bike should return by 2 p.m. and judging begins at 2:45 p.m. for the Motorcycle show.

Registration for the Burn Out Contest is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. The contest is scheduled for 10 a.m. - noon. The awards are scheduled for 5 p.m. at Courthouse Square.

Registration for the Kickingbird District Boy Scout Pinewood Derby is scheduled for 9 a.m. with races scheduled for 12:30 - 3 p.m.

The car judging begins at noon.

A free concert featuring Bisketheadz is scheduled from noon - 5 p.m.

Awards begin at 4:45 p.m. at the Courthouse Square Stage.

The Classic Cruise is scheduled from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Vehicles must be 1984 or older and in show quality form to participate in the classic car cruise. Non-compliant vehicles will be subject to removal. No burnouts or hydraulic actuation will be allowed.

The open cruise is scheduled for 7 - 8:30 p.m. and is open to any street legal vehicle or motorcycle.
