"My husband is a self-employed construction worker and I'm a homemaker," Acosta said. "It helps to keep the children up to date with physicals and preventative care."
For Acosta's 16-year-old daughter Kimberly, Florida KidCare has been the difference between a normal and a life bound to a wheelchair.
"Because I was able to get preventative care for my children her pediatrician found out that she had scoliosis," Acosta said.
"The mission of the program is to ensure the availability of child-centered health plans that provide comprehensive, quality heath care services to kids across our state," Carr said. "If parents can not make the events, no problem they can apply online any time."
