LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- With 52 percent of consumers not satisfied with their current insurance plans and the tempest over healthcare policy reform still raging, consumers' confusion around purchasing health insurance reached a fever pitch in 2017.JOANY, a technology company simplifying the health insurance process, today announced it has compiled every plan being offered to help the more than 100,000 JOANY users make more informed decisions about their health insurance.

With 300 carriers offering nearly 10,000 different health insurance options, all of the plans available in an area aren't typically represented by a single broker or the government exchanges. JOANY used nearly 100 million data points from all 300 carriers and ran it through the company's proprietary algorithm to help consumers make the best choice for their 2018 health insurance.

Bright Minds Join JOANY on Mission to Bring Simplicity and Transparency to Healthcare Buying  

After nearly tripling in size this year, JOANY recently hired a team of technology and operational visionaries to lead the company forward as it continues to make the health insurance experience simpler, more human and when appropriate, even enjoyable.

  • Arvind Mishra joins JOANY as Chief Product Officer. Most recently, he led the product team at Dollar Shave Club as Vice President of Product Management, where he was instrumental in launching the company's e-commerce efforts, its branded men's content site and its 2017 Webby-winning iOS and Android apps.
  • Adam Sant, another Dollar Shave Club alum, joins JOANY as Senior Director of Experience Design, where he'll lead JOANY's UX and visual design efforts. At Dollar Shave Club, Sant built the company's UX and User Research department from scratch.
  • Anthony Zhang was recently appointed Director of Digital Growth at JOANY.  Making a name for himself at an early age, Zhang launched a successful college food delivery startup, EnvoyNow, while he was still in school at USC and went on to sell his startup to food delivery company JoyRun.
  • Matt Guimbarda was named Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Guimbarda was CFO at Scopely, where he helped secure over $150 million in equity capital and arranged debt facilities in excess of $75 million for the company. Prior to Scopely, Matt lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team at RealD, while at the same time co-heading the company's Corporate Development effort.
