Intertek Achieves full ISO 17025 accreditation on Test Methods for Jet Fuel, Diesel and Gasoline in two Key Locations in the USA

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, today announced that it has gained full ISO 17025 accreditation for three products (Gasoline, Diesel and Jet Fuel) in two key locations in the US. In order to achieve ISO 17025 accreditation, a laboratory has to demonstrate a robust quality system and be deemed technically competent.

In May 2016, the Mexican Ministry released NOM-015 which stated that all imports into Mexico must be ISO 17025 accredited and be registered with the government. In response to this regulation, Intertek registered eleven ISO 17025 accredited laboratories with the Mexican Ministry in order to adhere to the new regulations,

As of 29^th October 2016, the Mexican Ministry implemented a new regulation NOM-016 imposing all imports into Mexico to be tested by an inspection company with ISO 17025 accredited test methods. Intertek was the first inspection company to achieve full compliance with NOM-016, by providing full ISO 17025 accredited test methods for gasoline, diesel and Jet Fuel in two of their laboratories (Houston and New Orleans). Intertek are now looking to gain full ISO 17025 accredited test methods in another 6 key locations in the US in the coming months.
