HAMLER — The Henry County South Joint Ambulance District Board of Trustees recently approved a couple of items relating to insurance.
It was reported the board approved an increase to the Qualified Small Employer Health Insurance Reimbursement Arrangement policy.
Full-time employees will be eligible for a maximum of $5,400 for single and $10,800 for family. This is an increase of $200 and $400 respectively.
A short term and long-term disability insurance plan for full-time employees was also approved at an annual cost of $4,876.68 through the Principal Insurance Co.
The board also approved the district's annual property and liability insurance through The Ohio Plan at a cost of $12,699.
This was reported to be an increase of $1,277 from last year. The coverage is effective Aug. 26.
The board reviewed a report of calls for service in June. It was reported there were 35 calls for service (52 in June 2022) with 18 patient transports (33).
Year-to-date there have been 276 calls for service (304 in 2022) and 197 patient transports (207). This reflects a 9.2% decrease in calls and 4.8% decrease in patient transports compared to the same period last year.
The board also:
Learned the district is still waiting on radio IDs from MARCS in order to get the radios programmed to the new system.
Approved the purchase of a new office phone system at a cost of $3,461.61. This will provide an approximate $60 per month savings.
